Are you thinking of moving to Crewkerne? Maybe you’re moving for work – or perhaps you’d like to be closer to the countryside or the coast? Here is the lowdown on the town – and what you can expect to pay for a house in Crewkerne if you are renting or buying.

Situated just 7 miles East of Chard and 9 miles South West of Yeovil, Crewkerne is a charming market town which nestles in the rolling South Somerset hills that gave rise to its name. Just 15 miles from the sea at West Bay and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Crewkerne has a hell of a lot going for it but is often overlooked by people who want to relocate to the West. It is not renowned for specific industries (unlike Axminster and it’s carpets) but it does lay claim to one of the worlds smallest car companies. Ariel – producers of the Ariel Atom – has just seven employees, making around 100 cars per year.

There are two primary schools and a large secondary school in the town and if you’re looking for things to do locally there is a fascinating museum – plus the wonderful South West Deer Rescue Centre, which we wrote about in our recent article about Chard.
